Another school break is fast approaching and you will soon have the kids at home during the May half term. It can be great to spend some time with your kids but it can also be difficult finding ways to keep them entertained during the break. But there are plenty of things to do throughout Kent and a number of family attractions put special events on during the break. Our blog looks at some of the best things to do in Kent during the May half term and gives you some ideas of where to go. Hever Castle, Edenbridge

If you are looking for some May half term family fun near Edenbridge, then Hever castle is the ideal place for you. Their half term activities take you back in time to the early 20th century with the fantastic Edwardian Life event. Fun for the whole family, the event gives you a fantastic glimpse of life during the Edwardian era. There will be costumed characters that teach your children about life during the Edwardian period with events such as Edwardian school and old fashioned PE lessons. With plenty events and games throughout the day for the family, this is the perfect event for your kids in Edenbridge over the half term.

Bowles Rocks, Tunbridge Wells

A fantastic outdoor activity course just a stone’s throw away in Tunbridge Wells at Bowles Rocks! They run fantastic activities throughout the school holidays for kids of all ages so take your kids along for a fun packed day out. Your children will learn new skills, gain confidence and meet new friends on the day, all while they are having fun. If you aren’t looking for an all-day course then you can also go along for individual events such as their skiing and snowboarding or rock climbing events. If your children are adventurous they are bound to enjoy the event.

Kent Life, Maidstone

Kent Life is a fantastic heritage farm park located in Maidstone that is the perfect event for younger children. Their May half term event includes lots of fun packed activities titled Sheepstakes! involving some favourite farm animals. There will also be entertainers on hand along with races and creative sessions including the paint a pot studio. Not only will your children enjoy a fun packed day out but they will also learn about farm life and how the farm works. Get outdoors this May half term and have fun with the whole family at the Kent Life Park.

Buchan Country Park, Crawley

If you are looking to do something that doesn’t break the bank, then make the most of the nice weather and head down to Buchan Country Park. Located in Crawley, this park is 170 acres of beautiful countryside for you to roam around and enjoy a great day outdoors. Make a day out of it and bring a picnic so you can enjoy the surroundings for even longer and take in the wildlife. There are a number of sculptures dotted around the park that families can hunt out for a fun activity or keep a look out for the wide array of wildlife in the park.
