With half term well underway, you might be thinking about things to do with your children while they are off school. It can be difficult finding new things to do with your children in the local area and you might feel like you always end up doing the same thing. You might also be looking for workshops that your children can enjoy which can give you time to get other things done. We have come up with a list of some of the best days out in Kent for you and your kids this half term.
If you’re looking to get outdoors with your children and want to find an activity that is also educational, then Hever Castle is the perfect place to head this half term. Your children will find out about how they can encourage wildlife in the garden and much more in a range of activities throughout the holidays.
Many of the events that run throughout the day are included in the price of your admission, but there are some additional events with an added charge. These include things like face painting and building a bug house. Find out more about the events here.
You can have a great day out with young children this half term on the Kent and East Sussex Railway. Your children can see a full-sized Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends. There will be plenty of free activities on offer and you will also get to ride on a real steam engine train with a 50-minute return train journey.
All of your children’s favourite characters will be there including the Fat Controller, Rusty and Dusty. Some of the free activities include a DVD screening, puppet shows, soft play and even a free goody bag. The train sets off from Tenterden and you can find more information here.
