Things to Do With the Kids in Kent: Summer 2017

Now that the summer holidays have begun, many parents will be wondering how they’re going to find 6 weeks’ worth of activities to keep the kids entertained. Here at Easistore, we’ve put together a list of some of the best family-friendly events across Kent.

Bewl Water

Bewlbridge Lane, Lamberhurst, TN3 8JH

How much? £2 per car

When? Sun 6th – Sun 27th August

Bewl Water is a firm favourite amongst families in Kent, with its impressive adventure playgrounds and woodland. But this August there’s even more reason to take the kids for a day out, since every Sunday is Family Sunday!

There will be a whole host of fun activities to take part in, from bouncy castles to the Laser Tag Challenge and mini golf. You can also take a cruise across the reservoir on The Bewl Belle, and enjoy a burger from the BBQ.

Bore Place

Chiddingstone, Edenbridge, TN8 7AR

How much? £15 per child

When? Various dates in August

Bore Place has a number of hands-on activities planned for kids throughout the summer; with each event, there’s opportunity to learn a new skill and meet new friends.

For younger kids, we recommend their Teddy Bears’ Picnic, where they’ll be able to look for teddies hiding in the vegetable garden, and then prepare a picnic, including freshly baked scones. They’ll also get a chance to meet the herd of dairy cows and enjoy a story in the Green Man Glade.

For older kids, the ‘Proper’ Pizza class is a great way to spend a morning; they’ll harvest fresh vegetables from the garden, learn to make bread and eat their freshly-made pizzas for lunch.

Dreamland

Marine Terrace, Margate, CT9 1XJ

How much? £3.50

When? 12th – 26th August

Since its successful revival earlier this year, Margate’s Dreamland has been attracting more and more visitors. In addition to the rides, the amusement park’s food court serves as an attraction in itself, aptly named ‘The Friendliest Food Court Ever’ in its efforts to cater to all dietary requirements.

However, by far the most exciting event at Dreamland this summer is the arrival of the World’s Biggest Bouncy Castle. The epic inflatable measure’s 21 metres square and stands nearly 13 metres tall. This is an event not to be missed, offering a great opportunity for you to join in on the fun with your kids.

Groombridge Place

Groombridge Hill, Tunbridge Wells, TN3 9QG

How much? from £9.85 for adults and £8.50 for kids

When? 22nd July – 20th August

Groombridge Place is hosting 2 exciting events over the summer, both designed to ignite your little ones’ imaginations. At the beginning of the summer, ‘Knights & Princesses’ will allow your kids to travel back in time and discover what life would have been like in medieval times. Expect interactive shows, storytelling and more. Later in the summer, ‘Wizards, Magic & Monsters’ will offer a dash of mysticism with heaps of magical activities to enjoy.

Kent Life

Lock Lane, Maidstone, ME14 3AU

How much? £9.95 for adults, £7.95 for kids

When? 28th August

If you’re looking for an event that all the family can enjoy, Kent Life is hosting an ice cream festival that’s bound to satisfy any sweet tooth. There will also be a range of fun-filled activities, including animal races and face painting – worth a visit over the bank holiday!
