Music festivals continue to prove popular with all ages and there are now hundreds of music festivals in the UK every year. These encompass a huge array of different music genres and there is plenty of choice of music festivals for the whole family. Kent has a great range of music festivals to choose from this summer and plays host to some of the most popular festivals in the UK. Ramblin’ Man Fair 2017, 28th – 30th July

If you are looking for a rock festival then one of the best places to head is Ramblin’ Man Fair in Maidstone. The event has become hugely popular and celebrates classic, contemporary and progressive rock genres so there’s something for everyone. The festival is designed for rock fans by rock fans and is set in the great location of Mote Park in Maidstone. The event takes place from the 28th – 30th July and is sure to be one of the biggest music festivals in Kent. Leefest, 10th -12th August

The festival is often celebrated as the UK’s best independent music festival and continues to grow in popularity. The festival is an independent event that started in Lee’s garden and grew into a huge event that is now one of the biggest events in Kent. There are over 200 artists taking to 11 different stages across the weekend. Some of this year’s headliners include Jake Bugg, Annie Mac and Kate Tempest. Big Day Out Festival, 1st July

If you are looking for a more family orientated festival then you should head down to Big Day Out. This is the perfect event for families looking for something that your kids will enjoy as much as the adults. This is another event that takes place in Mote park in Maidstone and features some music headliners along with plenty of other events for the kids to enjoy. The Vicar’s Picnic, 14th – 15th July

Often described as Kent’s best small festival, The Vicar’s Picnic is a great event to attend if you live close to Yalding. The festival provides camping options so that you can stay over and even offer glamping tents on site too. The headliners for this year’s event include The Fratellis and From the Jam with a number of other acts taking to the stages over the weekend. The event also includes a number of other events for you to get involved in including comedy, poetry and the Kid’s Field which is popular for families. The Social, 29th – 30th September

The event kicks off later in the year but is still one of the most popular music festivals taking place in Kent. It is a boutique music festival that is perfect for the avid dance music fan taking place at the Kent County Showground in Maidstone. The festival has been running since 2013 and looks to push the boundaries to bring the best electronic music line-up to Kent. Some of the biggest names announced already include Carl Cox, Guy Gerber and The Martinez Brothers.
